GRADUATE ENTRY BACHELOR OF LAWS
- Usually a 3 year degree, but some programs offer a fast-track to 2.5 years.

*LSAT Scores are required for admission to the University of Melbourne's Juris Doctor program. 
TRANSFER OF LAW QUALIFICATIONS BACK TO CANADA Both the LLB and the Juris Doctor will allow you to transfer your qualifications back to Canada to practice as a lawyer in Canada. Upon completion of your program in Australia, you will need to have your credentials assessed by the National Committee on Accreditation at the Federation of Law Societies of Canada (FLSC). It is recommended students contact the Federation of Law Societies of Canada (FLSC) for detailed information about the transfer process.
TRANSFER OF LAW QUALIFICATIONS BACK TO THE U.S. At this time, the Juris Doctor transfers to a limited number of States. You will need to take the bar exam in your state in order to become a licensed lawyer. It is recommended that you contact the State Bar Association where you wish to practice and the American Bar Association to confirm the process and acceptance of a foreign law degree. MONASH STUDENTS IN THE NEWS! In February 2011, a delegation of four students travelled to the United States of America to represent Monash University at the Princeton Interactive Crisis Simulation, held annually at Princeton University, New Jersey. The conference is made up of 120 student delegates predominantly from prestigious North American universities. The Monash University delegation was delighted to be invited as the sole Australian representative.  The conference aims to simulate more closely real world international interactions between state and non-state actors. Monash delegates represented the Colombian Minister of Justice, the Brazilian Minister of Education, the Chief Intelligence Analyst of the DEA and the commander of the Eastern Bloc of the FARC. The conference itself involves the interactions between individual cabinets which are made up of approximately 12 students from each of the Universities.
The staff of 140 Princeton Students from Princeton’s International Relations Council ran the simulation with a high level of professionalism which led to an intellectual rigour and intensity reflective of the quality of the students present. This rigour led to significant learning curves for all Monash delegates involved, not only in the complex political situation of Latin and South America but also in the processes and workings of diplomacy, negotiation and working in group situations made up of highly motivated individuals. Lessons sure to be applicable in the work place and educational environment of Monash. Outside of the Simulation itself, a high level of interaction and discussion occurred between the students, leading to the development of friendships and the furthering of one of Monash’s key aims in exposing its students to a truly international experience. The conference also resulted in the laying of the foundations of a relationship and formal agreement between the Princeton International Relations Council and Monash University which will lead to further interactions between the two universities in the coming years, beyond future Simulation conferences.
STUDENT TESTIMONIAL The University of Melbourne is a great place to study law. Both the facilities and professors are notable. The law building is quite new and houses a large library with an exclusive section just for law students.
Additionally, students interested in international law will stand to benefit from the international experience and cross-border perspectives characteristic to many of the law school’s professors. Overall I am quite impressed with the University of Melbourne Law School.
The application process for law school is often both complex and tedious.
