| The School of Education, in the Faculty of the Professions at the University of Adelaide, has a history of over 120 years of educational research and teacher education in South Australia. The school is committed to quality programs that are innovative, contemporary and flexible, to meet the professional needs of teachers and education systems in Australia and overseas. Academic staff at the School of Education are of the highest calibre and are renowned for their balanced mix of real-life teaching experience and expertise in educational consultancies. The school works closely with education authorities on curriculum and syllabus developments to ensure that the challenges and trends of today’s education are met. PROGRAMS The School offers two pre-service teacher training programs: - Bachelor of Teaching
- Graduate Diploma in Education.
Our pre-service programs have interacting course streams, namely curriculum design and methodology, assessment models and practices, student-teacher interactions in the classroom, family and cultural context of learning, and a pertinent practicum component. Most of our academics teach courses in all programs, and they bring their research expertise and insights to guide and support our students. Staff members in the School of Education are important members of Communities of Practices and Learning, and collaborate in a number of initiatives that foster networks within the various education sectors, community and with professional bodies. | PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS The School has a strong focus on research relating to the enhancement of teaching, learning and assessment, with extensive collaboration with government bodies, employers, education authorities, schools, colleges, as well as with other universities and research institutes in Australia and throughout the world.
