University of South Australia - Degree Programs

University of South Australia

The University of South Australia (UniSA) is a modern, progressive, international institution with a 150 year history. UniSA works with industry, the professions, governments and communities around the world to find innovative solutions to research problems. With more than 36,000 students from 90 countries, UniSA graduates gain the experience, practical and personal skills they need to make an immediate impact in their chosen profession.

Offering over 300 undergraduate, postgraduate and research programs across 40 discipline areas,
UniSA is recognised for offering professionally relevant and career focused programs with many of its academic staff receiving a number of prestigious Australian Awards for University Teaching in recognition for their distinct teaching and learning initiatives and approaches.

Location

Each year thousands of international students discover that Adelaide is the perfect place to study and live. Adelaide is big enough to offer all the advantages of city living—an energetic business environment, a vibrant cultural life and a world-wide reputation for its fine food and wines—yet small enough so that these advantages are easily accessible. With a population of 1.2 million people it is also Australia’s most affordable capital city, offering a lower cost of living than Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth (Economist Intelligence Unit 2009).

The city is beautiful and well ordered, surrounded by parklands and within easy reach of long, white uncrowded beaches, lush hills and the Australian outback. As calm and serene as the city is, every month or so Adelaide explodes with the colour, light and sound of one of its 400 spectacular events throughout the year including the Festival of Arts, Fringe Festival, Future Music and WOMAdelaide in addition to an annual calendar of multicultural, music, comedy, world class sporting and food events.

Academic Highlights

Our teaching staff have active roles in industry and they bring that experience, along with their knowledge, to the classroom. We don’t only send people out into the professional and business world as new graduates we also bring them back into the university to share their skills.

A few of our accolades:

  • 12 Citations for Outstanding Contributions to Student Learning, .Australian Learning and Teaching Council 2009
  • National awards for University teaching gained in 2009, 2008, 2007, 2006, 2004, 2002, 2000,
  • Two University of South Australia graduates have been awarded Rhodes scholarships
  • EQUIS accreditation of the Division of Business

University Life

UniSA has some of tertiary education’s best facilities for learning. That means new buildings, new laboratories, new learning spaces, new computers and computer programs and, in some cases, new learning spaces that are part learning, part social and set up to encourage group work.

A range of academic, social and personal support services is available to assist you throughout your program of study. Before you leave home through to your graduation day UniSA’s support services can help you settle in, excel in your studies and make the most of your experiences in South Australia.
