Founded in 1920, Swansea has almost 100 years of research and teaching experience, and is a vibrant, research-led university at the forefront of academic and scientific discovery. Set in parkland overlooking Swansea Bay on the edge of the breathtaking Gower Peninsula, the University's location is captivating.

Swansea University was the first British university to employ a female professor; research conducted by their School of Engineering contributed to the world's first supersonic car; and the campus is next to the UK's first Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty: the Gower Peninsula.

Location

Swansea is famed for its stunning beaches and parks, most of which are easily accessible by bus. There are many companies running organised activities in surfing, horse riding, kite surfing, wind surfing and sailing. There are also opportunities for hiking and cycling in Swansea and the Gower

You can also visit the Mumbles for shopping and a day out with its boutiques, delis, pubs and surf shops. Mumbles is renowned for the ‘Mumbles Mile’, the mile-long pub-crawl that runs along the sweep of the bay.

A word from our alumni
"The Gold Coast has been very good for me! Honestly, if I could write down 10 things that I would want in a med school, Bond has 11. The program is absolutely fantastic and I loved the small-group, problem-based learning curriculum. My professors are very personable and always available to help. I have met the most wonderful friends and know how lucky I am to have done so. It is like a greener, happier version of Canada!"
