Meet Jodi Reesman

"The most unusual destination on my ‘travel list” is Iceland. It will be a must do . . . someday."

Jodi joined GlobaLinks Learning Abroad in 2005 as a member of the study abroad team. In 2007 she transitioned to degree student services, managing student admissions and pre-departure processes to all Australian, New Zealand and U.K. universities.

Jodi earned her B.S. in mass communication at the University of Evansville in Indiana. She studied a semester abroad at the University of South Australia and has also been an exchange student to Germany. She has traveled through Western Europe, volunteered in Guatemala, and has extensively backpacked Australia and New Zealand.

FUN FACTS

Where have you travelled and/or studied abroad?

"I first traveled overseas as an exchange student while still in high school. It was a relatively short experience with the comfort of fellow classmates – though perhaps to the detriment of great cultural and language immersion. Nonetheless, it was an experience that changed the path of my future indefinitely. I returned to Germany a few years later to reunite with my exchange student and friend. Travel through Western Europe was included in the itinerary. As an undergraduate student, I traveled overseas once again, studying at the University of South Australia in Adelaide, Australia. Following university, I undertook service work in Guatemala and returned to the South Pacific to extensively backpack Australia and New Zealand. In those five months, I took in the sights I missed as an international student four years prior. In full, my Australian travels have taken me to all but Western Australia and Tasmania."

What is one goal you hope to accomplish someday?

When I was younger, I had secretly dreamt of being a travel writer. Although the lifestyle no longer appeals to me, I would like to one day be published, either a travel writing or otherwise. In the meantime, a goal in progress combines my two loves: travel and running. Beginning last year, I made it a goal to each year run a race in at least one state other than Colorado. Perhaps one day, I will have hit all 50!

What is your favorite part about working at GlobaLinks Learning Abroad?

I find nothing better than working with people who have a similar love of travel, exploration, discovery, adventure and flat-out fun. In such an environment, you are not the exception but rather right at home.
